Oilcloth

I have been wanting to recover my chairs for a really, really, really long time. My barstools that is. They are bland, and they are really dirty. I have young children, so something wipeable is almost mandatory for me at this point. A few weeks ago I posted about Heather Bailey's new laminated fabrics. I love them. But they are expensive -- $19.99 a yard to be exact. So, in an effort to find something less expensive, I have turned to oilcloth. It's not as cute and there aren't as many options, but it costs less than half as much ($7.99 a yard). So, tell me fellow bloggers, what do you think of these options? (All can be found at Harts Fabrics.)

Or, should I stick with my original love...the Heather Bailey laminated? It is really pretty, isn't it?

  1. I have an oil cloth bag that I use for church that is the same design as the first option. I think however staying true to your house and you the Heather Bailey would look great in your house. If only it had a little touch of red to tie in that wall by the TV.

  2. I'm not sure that the yellow Heather Bailey matches the yellow paint in your house. You might want to get a swatch first. I was looking at that exact orange fabric a few months back. The turquoise one has yellow and red. I think they are all beautiful!

  3. I agree with Rachel. I like the Heather Bailey and it shouldn't be too matchy matchy with your paint. Its ok if its not the same yellow. It will actually look better like that. I think I like it mainly cause all the colors are more mellow and thats more in keeping with the over all look of your house.

  4. I like the turquoise one too as the second best option.
