Christmas wish item

I would normally say "Christmas wish list," but due to the fact that I usually don't receive anything from my husband for Christmas, I'm hoping that if I just request 1 item, he might listen.  Please don't think my husband is thoughtless, we agreed years ago that we would not buy one another Christmas gifts.  It's really quite nice, most of the time, but some years, when I find things I really want, it stinks!  His birthday is in the month of December so to have to come up with two gifts for him in one month makes me want to pull my hair out.  Let me explain, my husband has never, once, kept any gift I have ever given him...ever.  He returns everything.  Even the year I earned my own money to buy him a video ipod immediately after they came out, he still returned it for the one with more memory.  That's why I agreed to the no present idea.

Anyway, this year I want something.  These boots to be exact.  Last night while shopping, I saw a girl wearing these boots and they were adorable.  Especially the red zipper.  No, I didn't go ask her what brand they were, but I did search the Internet until I found them.  I really want them!  Maybe I can talk him into an early birthday present.

Amazon Picks

I submitted a big Amazon order last night (yay for more checks off the Christmas list!), and wanted to share some of my finds in case it provides any inspiration for you as you make your list and check it twice.

Toy Story is all the rage at my house (we've invested so much in this franchise I'm not sure we can afford our children finding a new obsession!).  Santa is bringing the LEGO Toy Story Western Train Chase to one of my sons.  We went and saw it in person at the Lego store, and it was pretty cool.  My husband is a Lego geek and will be pumped to help them build it.

Santa is bringing my daughter a play kitchen (purchased in February at the Target sale -- yes!).  The preschool my boys go to has the most amazing play food sets.  We are going to start our collection with the Learning Resources Lunch Foods set.  It's plastic, but super duper heavy duty.  The food is solid and feels and looks real.  I'm excited.

And we are giving the boys the LeapFrog Leapster Explorer Learning Game System. We already have the Leaptster 2, and are hoping that a new system will eliminate some sharing disagreements. Fingers crossed.

Finally, I ordered The Elf on the Shelf.  This looks like such a fun tradition.  I'm excited to try it out.  Has anyone ever done it before?

Uh oh, my kids keep walking in the room as I write this.  Better publish and walk away before all my secrets are revealed!  ;)

Carnival Time!

While browsing etsy recently, I came across these beautiful pictures from HeyZee.  I am in love with the fair.  I'm not quite sure why, but I love it.  Mostly the food, really.  My husband refuses to take me to the state fair here in AZ because of the location.  When he tells me he needs his concealed weapons license before he'll take me, second thoughts creep in and I decide to pass on the whole fair idea.  My police officer, neighbor offered to take me and that I'd consider.  Anyways, since I'm not attending the fair anytime soon, I've thought about bringing the fair to me.

I'm not exactly sure where fair pictures would fit into my my home decor, but I'm really trying to find a place.  I thought about my little girl's bedroom.  What 3 year old doesn't love carnival rides and cotton candy?  My husband thought it'd be weird.  What do you think?  If I can't put them in her bedroom than they might just appear in my family room!  Talk about weird!  Actually, I really think I could pull it off.

I also found this great picture!  I really do love them!  I love the colors and the vintage feel of these photos.  They're so nostalgic.  Help me out!  I need to find a place for these in my home...somewhere...anywhere.

An UP wedding

I was browsing through wedding sites today looking for inspiration for a friend's wedding I am helping out with. I stumbled across this adorable wedding inspired by the Pixar movie, UP. I had to share. It's very classy and sweet. I love the hankie garland, the flower balls hooked to the chair backs, and of course the macarons. Would you ever have a themed wedding like this?

Also, I love the way these photos have been edited --the washed out, vintage look. Does anyone know what this style is called?
